Study Playlist

Happy Wednesday to all my lovely readers! Today's blog will be short, sweet, and to the point; my study playlist! Now, I know a lot of people use instrumental music because it's suppose to help you focus. I've tried that before, and well, I fell asleep. Oops. But for someone who has fallen asleep on gravel before, it's not much of a surprise. I made my own playlist, and I really don't follow any rules. I know the words to most of the songs, but because most of them are slow and calming, I'm able to focus on my work instead of singing in my head, but I also don't follow asleep because when the blaring of Green Day comes on, I snap out of my half-asleep trance. Did I mention it's 6 and a half hours? Yeah, it'll definitely get you through that huge study session without being repetitive.
There's not one specific genre here, although a large chunk seems to be 2000s indie, I don't know how that happened. Now, this won't be everyone's cup of tea. But, I encourage you to give it a try, maybe find some songs that do the trick, or maybe just find some new music. Either way, I hope you enjoy!

Favorite Fall Lipsticks

"Lips without lipstick are like cake without frosting."

I have to be completely honest, this was a huge factor in blogging again. I absolutely love make up. I don't know what it is, but it's my favorite form of expression. My favorite part of make up? The lipstick. Lipstick is the most underrated beauty product, it's amazing what the perfect red lipstick can do for you. Whenever fall rolls around, I will always be sporting a bold, dark lip. I know this isn't for everyone, but I think a big thing is finding the perfect bold, dark lip. Whether it is the classic red, to a deep purple, to black, there's a bold lipstick out there that will make head turns, and make sure everyone knows you're a bad bitch.
Let's jump in to my favorite lipsticks shall we?

Mliani Black Cherry ($6)
Maybelline Mattes in Touch of Spice ($5.50)
Maybelline Mattes in Divine Wine ($5.50)
Maybelline Mattes in Burgundy Blush ($5.50)
Wet N Wild Megalast in Cherry Picking ($2)
NYX Matte Lipstick in Alabama ($6)
NYX Matte Lipstick in Siren ($6)
NYX Soft Matte Lip Creme Copenhagen ($6)
NYX Liquid Suede in Cherry Skies ($7)

My favorite thing about every single one of these lipsticks is that they're all matte, with the exception of black cherry, and they're not drying at all. For best results, exfoliate and then use a chapstick beforehand, before you even prime your face. It helps your lipstick last and won't do any damage to your lips!

I highly suggest waiting for these to be on sale. Although they're all super affordable, stores like CVS, Kroger, Meijer, etc., will buy one get one 50% off all the time

Drugstore Makeup Kit for Beginners

When it comes to starting your makeup, it can be extremely overwhelming. I started wearing makeup (by makeup I mean emo makeup) after 13, which involved having raccoon eyes with eyeliner. When I started doing color guard in high school, I really started getting into makeup, and although I definitely don't wear it everyday, I love doing makeup. It can make you feel so empowered and creative, and when you have acne, it's a miracle.
But your makeup collection doesn't have to be expensive, by any means. I spent a long time not knowing how to do my makeup, and I blamed it on cheap make up, so I started to spend tons of money on MAC, Estee Lauder, Urban Decay, you know, the 40$ bottle of foundation. As I got deeper into college I realized that the makeup wasn't my problem, it was how I applied it. Every now and then I splurge on some nice makeup (I love my Naked palettes), my collection is about 90% drugstore.
So if you are starting your makeup collection, or just want to explore some new drugstore makeup, I have put together some tried and true products that I have used for years that I absolutely love, all for an affordable price!

Concealer: concealer is an extra layer of coverage, because using too much foundation will look cakey. People use concealers in multiple ways, but for beginners, the best way to use concealer is for (1) undereye concealer and (2) coverage concealer. Undereye helps cover any discoloration, undereye circles, or light highlighting under your eye. Coverage concealer will be for more coverage for acne or other blemishes.
